We shared an unusual mother-in-law / son-in-law relationship – we actually loved each other deeply.
As far as I was concerned she was the queen of the family and was treated that way.
As far as she was concerned I was her favourite.
She was a pleasure to be around. She never complained. Never swore. Made you laugh and let you know that you were loved.
She could sit on a bench and people would walk up from everywhere and talk to her.
A magnetic personality and full of life until the end.
And so it is with great sadness that I say goodbye.
I love her and was extremely blessed to not just spend time with her but to have her want to spend time with us.
Her passing has left us all with heavy hearts and a great void that we don’t know how to fill.
Geoff idolised her and she him but eventually he could do no more.
Bloody cancer – has taken another icon from us.
I love you Ruth. I miss you already. I’ll try to look after the family the way that you wanted me to do.
